Case Review & Consultation
Consultation may be provided in a legal matter even when Dr. Joy is not retained as an expert witness. These services vary depending on case circumstances, but often involve a records review in order to offer preliminary guidance about a plaintiff’s (or claimant’s) employment and earning capacity.
Dr. Joy can discuss the impact of a specific injury or incident on the individual’s ability to work and earn money. A review of vocational rehabilitation and/or economic expert reports that have been presented as evidence by the opposing side is also offered. The review may include a critique of the methodology used and the conclusions presented by opposing counsel’s vocational and economic damages experts.
Pressing Questions:
- Did the opposing counsel’s experts utilize generally accepted methodologies?
- Are there questions about the client’s pre- versus post-injury work performance?
- Do the treating and examining physicians have a clear understanding of the client’s job duties, work environment and activities of daily living within the home?
